Hey everyone,

It’s pretty late but we wanted to post a cover we did of Def Leppard’s “Animal”. They are a huge influence for us and we had a lot of fun covering this one. Some of you might not be familiar, but those of you that are, know how amazing it is.

If you don’t know the song, it’s by the same band that sings “Pour some sugar on me”… you know, that song you sing extremely out of key at 1:43am with all your drunk ass, obnoxious friends (like us).

I hope you guys enjoy. More updates on our progress coming soon. Until then, I hope you can melt your faces to this one.

Keep it edgy,

Want to hear a great song? (I mean a REALLY great song?)

I taught a songwriting class at Berklee College of Music in Boston in March where I heard so many talented songwriters play some really great songs. Very few of the students have yet to record the songs they played for me, but Ken Yates wrote a tune called “I Don’t Wanna Fall in Love” and posted a live video of it on YouTube. This song moved me when I first heard it in the room and it still does today.

I love teaching at Berklee because I get to meet the artists that are going to keep the music world going strong before the rest of the world does.

Enjoy, two years early.

(lots of love to everyone else that day who fearlessly played their songs for myself and the rest of the room.)

Reviewing songs with T-Money… Damn I really love these songs… Deciding which ones make the EP seriously blows. I’d rather have a 30 song album… Now that would be edgy.

WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU?!Back in January of this year we announced that we were heading into the studio to record our EP… After that we sort of fell off the inter-web-socialnetworking-planet-world.We started recording and abruptly decided that we needed to keep writing… So that’s what we did. We pressed pause on the recording, loaded up our imaginations and cantinas into our buggy and headed back north. It was a harrowing 23 minute journey up the 5 freeway. Once we arrived back home, we immediately jumped back into the loft.
That is where we have been since. Writing, experimenting, arguing, hugging, drinking, talking shit on our ex girlfriends, playing Call Of Duty, drinking, writing songs about our ex girlfriends, having Def Leppard jam sessions, recording embarrassing songs about our friends…. Oh, and writing.I promise it has been much more productive than it sounds.
The point being, this record is just another EP out of the millions in the world but to us, it’s damn important and we want it to be the best it can be… That being said, we have somewhere in the neighborhood of 30 songs… Narrowing 30 songs down to 6-7 hasn’t been easy but we are doing it. We are making the cuts. We are accepting that sometimes you just have to say, “I’m done. Lets do this”.
Over the next couple months we will be finishing up and heading back into the studio to record as well as starting to put together our full band. If you know people that you think would be a good fit, let us know!!
It’s time to play live shows! At the end of the day (or dawn), that’s really all it’s about. Playing show’s and hanging with friends. If you know us at all, you know that we take fun more seriously than that chick that sings “Friday” (You know what it is).To tide us over, we are going to be posting some roughs up during this time. We have an acoustic version of “Dancer In The Dark” that is almost finished and a few fun covers we’ve done that we can throw up too.Thank you to those of you that support us and give us crap about not having the album finished yet. We actually love it.I’m never good at ending shit… sooooooo………….Bb Strangers At Dawn
